Meet Refinery: Bell Captain Ray

One of the aspects that contribute to a fantastic New York experience is the people you meet. Here at Refinery, we take that seriously, especially when it comes to our staff. Last month, we introduced you to front desk agent Gabe. Now, we’re shining the spotlight on Ray, a bell captain who’s been with the hotel for five years. Like Gabe, Ray’s a native New Yorker who’s always eager to share his local recommendations. As part of our #MeetRefinery series, we caught up with Ray to learn more about his life at Refinery, plus the places he loves in the city.

What’s your favorite aspect of being a bell captain?

I love working with my amazing team and all the new people we meet daily.

What’s one of your best memories from your time at Refinery?

I am a BIG New York Rangers fan, so the most memorable experience has been helping the great hockey legend Mark Messier during his stay at the Refinery.  It was a true honor having him as a guest in our hotel.

What do you love most about New York?

There is always something to do. Any day, any time, any season. It truly is  “The City That Never Sleeps!”
