The Many Hats New York Wears
Ever found yourself lost in a serious session of people watching on the streets of New York City? We’ve all been there at some point. Before you notice, you’ve been sitting at that little table in the corner of your neighborhood coffee shop watching strangers pass by, wondering, “what does he or she do for a living?”
You find yourself wondering “how has she managed to walk around in those heels all day?” Or “is his hair always that perfect?” The truth is, most New Yorkers don’t just wear one hat, they wear a few ones — we’re speaking figuratively here of course. New York City is the place people come to make their dreams a reality. Sometimes that means juggling a job or two, working on your novel-in-progress after a day that’s already been too long, and not getting anywhere near eight hours of sleep each night.
New Yorkers are known to wear many hats, and these are just a few of them!

This NYC wall art was inspired by the shared history of the NYC Garment District and The Refinery Hotel — a former hat factory. Catch the beautiful display of hats on the walls of the platform at the 23rd Street subway station (23rd Street and Broadway), along the N and R train lines.
