Best Places to Watch The Fourth of July Fireworks
The annual Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks are just a few days away. Back on East River for the first time since 2008, the sparkly show will be visible from Manhattan, Brooklyn AND Queens! With so many places to catch the view, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorite spots to watch Macy’s annual Fourth of July Fireworks. May your week be short, your weekend longer, and your fireworks viewing spot even sweeter!
Brooklyn Bridge Park – Pier 1
Head to Dumbo’s Brooklyn Bridge Park for beautiful views of the pyrotechnics and the Manhattan skyline Be sure to arrive early, Brooklyn Bridge Park will fill up quickly as it offers one of the best views in the city. Popular attractions like the famous Jane’s Carousel and the pop-up pool will close at 4 pm on July 4th.

Brooklyn Heights Promenade
Abraham Lincoln once said the Brooklyn Heights had the finest views in all of the world.Take the former POTUS’s advice and catch the fireworks from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade with the Financial District skyline in the background.

FDR Drive – Midtown
One of the best viewing locations from Midtown Manhattan will be the elevated portions of the FDR Drive. Entry points are located at 42nd Street and 34th Street (as well as further downtown). The NYPD is asking that you leave the lawn chairs, coolers, large bags and the picnic baskets at home.
Refinery Rooftop
If you’d prefer to take in the glare of the fireworks perched above the streets (and crowd) of NYC, with the Empire State Building as your backdrop, do yourself a favor and head to Refinery Rooftop. We’ll be taking in one of the celebration of independence from our rooftop, and you should too! Be sure to make a reservation if you’d like to secure your spot for the evening.

Long Island City
A quick ride over the bridge and into Queens leaves you at one of the best viewing spots for the fireworks this year—Long Island City. Marvel at the pyrotechnic display along Center Boulevard between 48th and 49th Avenues, conveniently located next to four of the fireworks barges. Views across the East River and Roosevelt Island with Manhattan in the background make this spot a keeper.
