The Best Blowouts in Manhattan

Whether you’re in town for a special event, a fancy night out for dinner and a show, or simply want to enjoy a little pampering during your trip to the Big Apple, New York City is full of hair salons that will give you a picture-perfect blowout every time.

Best of all, you can leave your flat iron, curling iron, and hair dryer at home and reclaim a bit of room in your suitcase.

From salons that do it all to those that specialize in the art of drying and styling, these are our favorite hair studios in Manhattan for a blowout. Just be sure to call ahead and make an appointment as soon as possible, as these salons tend to fill up at prime time (think: Friday and Saturday evenings; in the early morning on weekdays before work).

Drybar

Come here for a $49 wash and blowout style you can easily select from a menu (an Old Fashioned for glamorous Hollywood waves; the Mai Tai for beachy waves; the Manhattan for sleek and smooth locks). Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or Champagne at select locations, or arrive with clean, dry hair and get styled for half the cost. There are nearly 20 locations all over Manhattan.

Blo Blow Dry Bar

With nine Blo Blow Dry Bars around Manhattan, you’re never far from a quick wash and style. Depending on location, blowouts start at $49 in the city, and you can choose from seven styles, including an ultra-trendy fishtail braid and a coiffed ponytail. If professional blowouts are part of your regular routine, consider a “blo tab” package or a membership (there are nearly 130 salons in three countries) so you can enjoy a blowout at any location around the country at a discount. A handful of locations in the city also offer makeup services.

Glam + Go

Unlike most blow dry bars, Glam + Go can be your one-stop shop for every styling need, including extensions, color, and express blowouts on clean, dry hair done in 15 minutes or less. There are half a dozen locations around Manhattan. Glam + Go also offers makeup services and a handful of services for men and kids, too, so you can bring the whole family.

Hair Bar NYC

A trio of salons in Manhattan that offer a wide array of color and chemical services, including an array of keratin treatments (Diamond Botox and Silk Touch, among others). Of course, you can also pop in for a blowout (from $40) or a flat iron or curling iron finish (from $20). Find this salon in Midtown, Soho and Kips Bay on Third Avenue.

Plushblow

This New York blowdry bar opened its first location in Manhattan in 2019. Head to Kenmare Street in Nolita for a $45 wash and blowout, whether you have short and straight hair or long, curly locks. Like many blowdry salons, you can choose your look (pin-up curls, super-straight) from a menu.

Dreamdry

Find Dreamdry salons in New York City’s Flatiron and new Hudson Yard neighborhoods. Founded by designer Rachel Zoe and talent agent Robin Moraetes in Manhattan in 2013, blowouts include a wash and dry for $50. (We love “the Stevie” look by celebrity stylist Jen Atkin.) Clients can also add Kerastase treatments, conditioning masques, braids and extensions for an extra fee.

DevaChan Salon

Specializing in natural, curly, textured hair, DevaChan stylists know curls. Come here for an expert dry cut (from $75 for men, $95 for women) and or a “DevaCurl Transformation” that includes cleansing, conditioning and expert curl styling ($50). DevaChan Salons are located in Soho, on Broome Street, and on the Upper West Side.
