While Milan Fashion Week is currently underway, we’re still reeling from last week’s Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer 2015 Fashion Week held here in NYC. While we spoke about surviving Fashion Week, nothing prepares you quite like spending the week immersed in all things fashion. We got an inside look into what goes on behind the scenes when designer Ann Yee presented her Spring/Summer 2015 collection at the Refinery Hotel.
On a hot summer day, Ann Yee showcased her collection centered around a theme of climate control, perfect for the 90-degree weather day in early September. Known for her seamless blend of sophistication and downtown NY edge, Yee has established a strong foundation in knitwear. Pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion, Yee took to the Refinery Rooftop to show off her latest creations — and we must say we are fans.
The collection targets the globetrotting woman who must adapt to different climates, destinations, and styles. Coral and blue vibes added a pop of color to the pieces worn by the beautiful models lounging out on the terrace with the Empire State Building as their backdrop. The girls were picture perfect draped in delicate knitwear, which led to thoughts of layering each piece this coming spring in NYC.
A major selling point for the collection is that every lady can envision herself walking down 5th Avenue in each piece that was presented for the collection. Every garment was made with a ready-to-wear approach. Simple yet detailed, we can’t wait to get our hands on Ann Yee’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection.
