A Guide To Being Refined: How To Style The Perfect Fall Looks

Now that summer is coming to an end, we’re ushering in the fall season the only way we know how—with some seriously fabulous fashion finds. We’ve teamed up with Lord & Taylor to offer our guests an exclusive shopping experience, but we wanted to share the love with everyone. Stylist Rebecca Gould shows us how to put together the perfect looks for fall. Scroll through her top picks of the season, modeled here by the always stylish Jessi Frederick, fashion blogger and owner of The Current Residents. You can find everything you see here at Lord & Taylor stores around the country.

Look 1: Retro Refined

“This shift-shaped dress gives off an ultra-female touch, offering the perfect Sunday brunch style for the city girl. I chose to style this dress with the mini Selma Michael Kors over-the-shoulder bag, making it accessible and easy for daily use. The bangle is fun and chic, with everyday appeal.”

Look 2: Polished Punk

“This take on British punk rock was my favorite outfit to style. (Rock ’n’ roll has been integrated into British fashion trends for decades and continues to dominate the market.) This BCBG dress works for both an edgy punk rocker, or a feminine girl looking to spice up her wardrobe. Adding a statement necklace creates a bold look. I stuck with all gold accessories for extra drama.”

Look 3: Boho Chic

“The 70s are totally in. This whole ensemble from Lord & Taylor’s private label, DesignLab, gives off a cool vibe. I love the print of the bell-bottoms, and they are so comfortable. The lacy top gives the look a feminine touch—and this cropped bell sleeve top is a perfect match for any high-rise bottom. The mother-of-pearl clutch is from Birdcage, a concept shop at Lord & Taylor featuring discoveries of new brands and designers.”
