Travel out to Governors Island this summer and step back in time to the roaring twenties. Easily one of the most unique, fun and exciting social events in New York City, the Jazz Age Lawn Party celebrates an era filled with great music, fashion, literature and history. The first edition took place in June, but the party returns the weekend of August 16-17. The day will be filled with several activities including a 1920s motorcar exhibition and a Charleston dance contest. Performances will include a jazz orchestra, a 1920s inspired dance troupe and much more. The Jazz Age Lawn Party will also have a delicious collection of food vendors serving bratwursts, burgers, oysters, ice cream and more. This promises to be a fun-filled weekend equipped with escapist sensory pleasures from the visual to the audible to the tasty. This is a can’t-miss New York City summer happening.
