Paron Fabrics: A Local NYC Garment Shop
We love being in the heart of the Fashion District — in fact, there’s no other place we’d rather be (que Clean Bandit lyrics). On a stroll through the neighborhood the other day, we decided to take a walk down to Paron Fabrics, a small neighborhood fabric shop. We can never quite resist the urge to sift through amazing fabrics and materials, imagining the striking pieces they’ll soon become.
Paron Fabrics, a family-owned shop, has been in the Fashion District for 40 years. The shop is stocked with a ton of neat fabrics– more than any other shop in the area, according to Mark Glenn, Paron Fabrics vice president. We asked what made the shop unique, and Mark quickly responded “the people.”
Apart from all the really great fabrics, we’d have to agree, the staff was pretty amazing. Although they are small in number, the staff makes sure that they get around to helping everyone in the shop. What if they don’t have the fabric you’re looking for? They’ll help you find it somewhere! And with that, we say this little shop is on our “go-to” list when in the Garment District. We’ll definitely be back!
Lucy has worked at Paron Fabrics for 25 years, and has the answer to pretty much any question you might have concerning fabrics.
