Archtober in NYC: Meet Refinery’s Favorite Buildings
October in New York is “Archtober,” with dozens of architectural events happening throughout Manhattan. In honor of the design-centric month, we turned to the Refinery staff to hear some of their favorite buildings in New York City. Here are the high-rises and landmarks that have Refinery’s hearts:

“The Chrysler Building for it’s Art Deco charm.”
– Ann Sansaricq, Director of Group Sales

“The New York Public Library. Why? – The movie ‘The Day after Tomorrow” was a big hit in Holland – and the first time I came to New York, this was the one building that I had to see!”
– Lisa Wand, Group Sales Manager
“The American Copper Building because it has a private Turkish Hammam on the bridge.”
– Sanem Oral, Revenue Analyst
(Her other favorites? The Madison Square Park clock tower, the new Public Library in Long Island City, and Brooklyn’s River Café.)

“The Flatiron Building. It’s distinct, unique and underrated in my opinion. It’s a landmark that reminds you of exactly what city you are in, yet it doesn’t receive as much notoriety.
– Calvin Tilokee, Area Director of Revenue Management
